Booked 2 rooms months ahead and stayed a month ago. We requested adjacent rooms but we didn't get that request. We stayed in the Standard Deluxe Room with 2 twin beds. Since we went around town a lot for our trip, we just needed a safe place to leave our luggages and rest for the night. The rooms do need an update but are well kept and clean. No strong odors and pests around. They provided us with fresh clean towels and made our beds daily. Our linen were also good and in crisp white. The ac worked perfectly fine this summer. Our room window opened to a wall so it was dim. My friend did her makeup in the bathroom which had adequate lighting but I found it hard despite the huge mirror and table. I appreciated the hotel staff who provided us with disposable utensils when our delivered food didn't come with those. I recommend this place for travelers on a budget and who won't be staying in their rooms much of the time.

We're still staying here, but since rooms in Portland are scarce and pretty pricey, we definitely wanted to jump on to rave about the Monticello Motel. Extremely clean, updated, well-maintained rooms; excellent service. We didn't need our room cleaned every day, but the owners would still knock to check on us and make sure we had coffee, towels, toiletries, etc. The room was very comfortably cool with the air conditioning unit, but the blankets cozy when it got cold. Excellent WiFi allowed us to work remotely during our stay. The location was amazing, we walked into Mississippi Street every day, to a local bar a few blocks away for a night cap, and back to a very quiet atmosphere at the motel. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town.

Me and my family had a great stay at the Monticello Motel. Good, clean room, very nice people. Manager gave us great information about the area. Will definitely come again!

This hotel may be in an iffy neighborhood, but you would never know once you set foot on the property. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The property is well maintained and the manager is spunky sweet, she definitely cares about her guests! Very worth the price!

Our stay was wonderful! We got in late due to our flight and there was a hand written note to me to ring the bell as they knew we were coming late. The manager checked in on us every day. The room and bed were very clean. We felt safe in the area and it was close to where we were going while in Portland. It was very quiet except for when the train passes and that noise is minimal. The prices are very reasonable. We will definitely stay here again.

This is an older motel owned by a nice family. Rooms are dated but clean, with mini fridges, fans and AC. The TV doesn't have local channels, but they have Wi-Fi and you can stream your services on the TV. Great location for what I've needed, and the room was a great value. Thank you!
